Mapleton is a town located in Aroostook County, Maine, United States. It is situated at the junction of the Aroostook and Presque Isle Rivers and is approximately 12 miles southeast of Presque Isle. The town was incorporated in 1877 and has a population of around 1,000 people. The primary industry in Mapleton is agriculture, including potato farming and dairy farming. The town is also home to the Mapleton Elementary School and a community center, as well as the Mapleton ATV Club, which maintains a network of trails in the area. Some popular activities in the town include fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling.
